Rural Delivery*:
We recommend holding any rural gifts ordered on a Friday over until Monday to avoid gifts sitting in a courier depot over the weekend.
When a gift travels to a rural property, initially it will travel to the main courier depot in the area on the above time frames. The gift is then given to a rural sub-contractor whom is given 48 hours (ex weekends) to deliver the gift out to the rural property. For this reason rural deliveries can take 4-5 working days to arrive depending on their location from the date of dispatch. We always send tracking information to you on email so that you can follow your gift online whilst in transit. We have been sending gifts to rural areas for over 14 years and can assure you that your living gifts are absolutely fine to be in transit for this period of time.
How do I know if the address is rural? If you are unsure if the area you are sending your gift to is rural, please use the Courier Locator which will advise if the courier is classified as rural. We do not charge extra for rural delivery, the only difference is the amount of time the courier takes to deliver the gift to the property. Please always allow +2 days on top of standard delivery time frames listed above as we cannot speed up the process of delivery.
If you have a choice of sending the gift to a home address which is rural or an office address which is in a main city, we would always suggest sending it to the main office, it will arrive 2 days quicker (as long as the office is not rural of course).
Delivery Costs:
Unlike other gift companies whom increase their prices and then state "free delivery" (we know you can see right through that!), we like to be up front about the actual delivery costs. Delivery including all external packaging starts from $5.50 NZ wide for our smallest gift items and increases by weight / dimensions to $12.50 for our large trees. For volume orders of multiple gifts, price is calculated by weight and location at checkout. We do not charge extra for rural delivery.
Saturday delivery is available on request and incurs a $9.50 ticket charge on top of normal delivery costs. As many areas are not available for Saturday delivery, please call 0800 87 33 44 to check on availability and arrange a Saturday delivery and payment if required.
Delivered by Courier:
All gifts are marked "Authority to Leave" to ensure they are left by the courier at the delivery address and no delay occurs in the delivery of your gift. The couriers do not have the ability to deliver at a specific time, nor to call or email to see if someone will be home to accept deliveries due to the vast number of parcels they deliver. They will however leave the parcel in a safe place at the property.
We recommend sending to a work address should leaving a gift at a home address not be safe or if the property is hard to access ie: fenced / dog / apartment block. If the delivery details you have provided for your order are incorrect a re-delivery fee will be required by the courier. Please use the NZ Post address and postcode finder to double check your delivery details.
At times deliveries can be delayed due to factors outside of our control (such as natural disasters, road closures, Inter island ferry sailings being cancelled due to Wellington blowing a gale!, just to name a few). Rest assured we will do our very best to have your delivery made when requested but due to these unforeseen factors cannot guarantee delivery on the date you choose 100%. We will always send you a courier tracking number on dispatch so you can view your gift whilst it is in transit with the courier and out for delivery. Should your gift not arrive when you would expect it to (given the standard time frames above), please do email and we can follow up the courier for you during office hours.
All gifts offered through Treegifts.co.nz Ltd can only be delivered to physical street addresses within New Zealand (excluding Great Barrier Island). Gifts cannot be sent internationally nor to NZ PO Boxes or Private Bags. Treegifts.co.nz Ltd are unable to seek reimbursement with couriers for delays in parcel delivery.
