Delivery Information

Standard Delivery Time Frames (Mon-Fri):

Orders received by 2:30pm (NZST) Monday to Friday are dispatched on the day of order (or at a later date depending on the delivery date you enter into your cart) and standard delivery time frames, apply thereafter (please see below).

Please note that delivery time frames required by the courier will always over-ride the delivery date you may select in your cart.  For example, should you select next day delivery but the delivery time frame required is a 2-3 day delivery service (as per the table below) this will be the quickest we can have your gift arrive at its destination.  If you are in any doubt or your gift is super urgent please call 0800 87 33 44 or email us out of office hours for further information.

Upcoming Closure:  NZ Public Holiday - Queens Birthday June 3, 2019.  There will be no deliveries or dispatches made on this date.

Approximate Time Frames for Delivery:

Same Day Often available within Wellington CBD / Lower & Upper Hutt CBD if ordered prior to 8:30am. (ex Rural). Please place a note at cart if you are wanting us to see if Same Day Delivery is available for your order.

North Island 1-2 working days after the date of dispatch, location dependent. Typically overnight to most main centres ie: Auckland / Hamilton / Whanganui etc (ex Rural).

South Island 2 - 3* working days after the date of dispatch - please allow 3 days in Autumn and Winter due to the weather conditions.  This also applies to any order to the West Coast region.  Orders to Invercargill / Gore please allow 4 working days (ex Rural)

Rural Delivery* Normal delivery time frames above + 2 working days for the rural courier to deliver to the property after arrival in the main centre.  Includes all rural areas nationwide including R.D addresses and Waiheke Island.  Tree Gifts does not deliver to Great Barrier Island - please see further information below on rural delivery.

Rural Delivery:

We recommend holding any rural gifts ordered on a Friday over until Monday to avoid gifts sitting in a courier depot over the weekend.

When a gift travels to a rural property, initially it will travel to the main courier depot in the area on the above time frames.  The gift is then given to a rural sub-contractor whom is given 48 hours (ex weekends) to deliver the gift out to the rural property.  For this reason rural deliveries can take 4-5 working days to arrive depending on their location.  We always send tracking information to you on email so that you can follow your gift online whilst in transit. We have been sending gifts to rural areas for over 14 years and can assure you that your living gifts are absolutely fine to be in transit for this period of time.
If you are unsure if the area you are sending your gift to is rural, please use the NZ Post directory in the first instance, if the property states "No Postal Delivery" or "This is a Rural Address" then the address is rural. There are other areas not listed, but classified as rural by the courier due to their territories.  In order to be 100% sure please call us on 0800 87 33 44 or +64 274 978199 during working hours alternatively please email via our contact page should you need confirmation.  We do not charge extra for rural delivery, the only difference is the amount of time the courier takes to deliver the gift to the property.

Delivery Costs:

Unlike other gift companies whom increase their prices and then state "free delivery" (we know you can see right through that!),  we like to be up front about the actual delivery costs.  Delivery including all external packaging starts from $5.50 NZ wide for our smallest gift items and increases by weight / dimensions to  $12.50 for our large 1m tall trees.  For volume orders of multiple gifts, price is calculated by weight and location at checkout.  We do not charge extra for rural delivery.

We offer a discounted rate of shipping of either $5.50 for small items or $9.50 for larger items for gift delivery in Wellington.

Saturday delivery is available on request and incurs a $8.50 ticket charge on top of normal delivery costs.  As many areas are not available for Saturday delivery, please call 0800 87 33 44 to check on availability and arrange if required.

Delivered by Courier:

All gifts are marked "Authority to Leave" to ensure they are left by the courier at the delivery address and no delay occurs in the delivery of your gift. The couriers do not have the ability to deliver at a specific time, nor to call or email to see if someone will be home to accept deliveries due to the vast number of parcels they deliver.  They will however leave the parcel in a safe place at the property.

We recommend sending to a work address should leaving a gift at a home address not be safe or if the property is hard to access ie: fenced / dog / apartment block.  If the delivery details you have provided for your order are incorrect a re-delivery fee will be required by the courier.  Please use the NZ Post address and postcode finder to double check your delivery details.

At times deliveries can be delayed due to factors outside of our control (such as natural disasters, road closures, Inter island ferry sailings being cancelled due to Wellington blowing a gale!,  just to name a few). Rest assured we will do our very best to have your delivery made when requested but due to these unforeseen factors cannot guarantee delivery on the date you choose 100%. We will always send you a courier tracking number on dispatch so you can view your gift whilst it is in transit with the courier and out for delivery.  Should your gift not arrive when you would expect it to (given the standard time frames above), please do email and we can follow up the courier for you during office hours.

All gifts offered through Ltd can only be delivered to physical street addresses within New Zealand (excluding Great Barrier Island).  Gifts cannot be sent internationally nor to NZ PO Boxes or Private Bags. Ltd are unable to seek reimbursement with couriers for delays in parcel delivery.
